Knutsford dominated the first half and led 3-1 at halftime through goals from Ady Holah, Norman Jamieson & Henry Pass.

The second half deteriorated into a mess of a game; skill and technique disappearing in the wind.

But...there are more than one way to win a game and Knutsford demonstrated their fighting qualities matching Crewe toe to toe. With 5 minutes to go Knutsford were inexplicably 5-4 down. Crewe were celebrating and Knutsford were scratching their heads. However Norman Jamison then scored his second to level it 5-5; and with only injury time left Steve Hope stole into left D getting a shot away and committing the keeper; he then squared the rebound to Henry Pass who finished with aplomb.

6-5 to Knutsford; and the crowd went wild!!
